Samco Hoses

On the yahoo e34 Group we have been discussing cooling hoses. Aparently there is a batch of replacement upper radiator hoses for the S38 that have a defect as described here:
http://www.krlsystems.com/bmw/bmwhose/

We have heard of early failures. (5000 miles)
I've contacted Samco to see if they will build some cooling hoses for our cars. I received word back from Samco already (impressive) and they will make a hose for our cars if they have 15-20 orders.

So, please reply if you are willing to pre-purchase a "set" of Samco hoses. (I didn't work out purchase details, but if they are committing to make it, its fair to pay up
front)

Next thing to figure out, What hoses should we get? Do we need ALL hoses made, or just some of the main/critical hoses?

Price is unknown at this point, but I would use the e30 M3 kit as a reference. It includes 9 hoses and goes for ~$330. An e36 M3 kit with 2 hoses goes for $95.

Here is the samco site:
http://www.samcosport.com/

I've heard good things about their hoses, anyone have any bad expirience out there? Are they worth the money?

Nothing wrong with Samco as a product.
They also supply O/E these days.
From experience they can be slack on delivery timings.

Being an ex-skyline ex-cossie owner you probably have A LOT of experience with them ?

I would be interested, but the color would be important to me as I'm not gonna run around with blue hoses like all those scooby's

I'll check later once we have more commitment, but I don't think they care about colors. Black, red, blue etc should all be available.

I would be up for a kit - I dont think my main hoses have been replaced yet. Would be a good opportunity to start thinking about doing it.

So yep I will be up for a kit.

I've already contacted another company that caters primarily to race cars about making a complete custom kit. I should know for sure if it's going to happen in a few weeks. I told them I would need all the hoses not just the main ones.
