non-EDCIII strut rebuild?

I have in the past read all the threads on EDCIII struts but until my recent purchase of a 1990 M5, took little notice of the struts fitted to earlier E34 M5's.

As my rears are shot, and to save me looking through all the differing threads, can anyone tell me whether it is possible to do a rebuild of the non EDCIII self levelling stuts fitted to the 1990 M5's?

I would prefer to keep it all original.

Cheers

Re: non-EDCIII strut rebuild?

Doubt it very much. You'll need a new set by the looks of it.

I am sorry to say, but this is one of those M=more money moments.

You should be able to have it done for about $2K including labour

Re: non-EDCIII strut rebuild?

My M5 has had the EDC legs removed and replaced with non EDC Hartge suspension - it wasnt cheap - i seeem to remember a bill somewhere for approx 2500 quid including a couple of other bits and pieces!!!!

Pete.
