The 1990 BMW v12 550i is for sale

I came across the well-known "M5 Killer" for sale after being interested in it myself. I saw that there was some previous threads regarding this car or ones like it. I wonder how the performance compares?

Here is the link:

Previous post regarding this car.

Thats unusual.
I would like to have a drive in that monster.
Looks like it would be very nose heavy.

I know Hartge put the v12 in the 5-series,i'v the original article somewhere(try to find it).I don't think that was the 5.6l though, because this was in the late eighties.

450hp is a lot,even Alpina didn't get that out of the 6liter.

I'd love to see someone pick it up and enter it into the Gumball or the like. A unique, fast car that could use some abuse....

Farrell
Season greetings Farrell/All,

Judging by the pictures of the car, looks like something borrowed an M5 and stuff a V12 inside the engine bay (the ground effects, front view, rear view, side view, seats, dash layout, all is the same as an M5), so is it a M5 killer or an M5 with a bigger engine. Either way it's a very interesting car.

It is an interesting car - would love to drive it - not sure about whether it deserves such a scary title though.

pretty sure a standard m5 would be much faster around corners, straight line would be another story though..

Re: The 1990 BMW v12 550i is for sale

Alpina got 430bhp out of the 6-litre V12 in the late E38 B12 6,0 and 416 bhp out of the 5,7 litre in the E31 B12 5,7 Coupe.
