E34 M5 20 Jahre Motorsport Edition

"To celebrate BMW Motorsport 20th anniversary, BMW had built 20 specially equipped Euro-spec M5s in late 1992. These, based on the 3.8-litre engine were only in Mugello Red (274) and had the following equipment:

-Front door handles embossed with "BMW Motorsport" lettering
-Nurburgring package
-M-Technic rearview mirrors
-Contrasting M lower body panels in Jet Black (668)
-M System II wheels with black-painted "throwing star" centres
-Shadowline trim
-Recaro SR sport seats in special M cloth with Anthracite suede bolsters
-Suede-covered steering wheel, shift knob, shift boot and parking brake lever with red stitching
-Carbon fiber trim on dash and door panels
-Red seatbelts with "BMW Motorsport" lettering
-Plaque on the center console with each car's individual number in the edition of 20"

This is the original brochure scan:

So it's pretty sad to see one found like this:

Thats very sad.
Such a shame to see something unique in that state.

I wonder if its salvageable.

Nice Mirrors ....

Re: E34 M5 20 Jahre Motorsport Edition

Gents,

Wait a minute. This particular car has recently been bought by a member of the German M5 forum for an incredible low amount! In fact, he introduced himself to the German forum with this set of pictures without being aware that he had just bought one of the real McCoy's.

For more information about his plans with this car, you can read This thread on the German forum.

Re: E34 M5 20 Jahre Motorsport Edition

Aside from the door damage and possible B-post damage i dont really see what is that bad/difficult to repair from the pictures??
For sure the interior needs a good scrub but ive seen alot worse.
Lets hope it makes it back as it was intended

Re: E34 M5 20 Jahre Motorsport Edition

ste@
Yes, Sir !
This also proves that there is no sign of
""Front door handles embossed with "BMW Motorsport" lettering"
in the original broschure.
These cars do NOT have "BMW Motorsport"-engraved door handles, although
one of them might have received those as an extra 'ZS-option' that is always possible but they do not belong to the DEM 8.500 package.
