Vibration through shifter at higher speeds, gears?

So I took the touring out on a freeway drive the other day as the weather was nice for this time of year. Once on the freeway, I noticed another one of those gremlins. With the radio off and as the speed would rise in sixth gear, a progressively worse vibration is noticed at the shifter. It becomes noticable at around 80 mpg. At 80, if I floor the throttle it will become worse. At slower speeds, say 65, or with real light throttle, I can get the shifter to repeat this by resting my hand and with slight pressure pushing the shifter to the right. I notice the problem to be apparent in fifth also, but not to the same intensity.

My M has only about 85k miles, and does have only 6 month old Mobile 1 atf fill. Anyone have an idea as to what this is. I am hoping the fix is a guibo, linkage adjustment, or other non-major item, as opposed to say a tranmission rebuild.

Thanks for any ideas,

Greg

Hi greg, would pay to have a look at the guibo first,it will be pretty obvious if it is screwed. Dont think the linkage is adjustable,(feel free to correct me) there is a rubber mount at the rear end that could of had its day though!
Good luck!

It's the quibo..... trying to make an exit at a right angle to the drive line.
