Looks great inside and out.

Why did they ever change from that brilliant steering wheel.
I'd love to have one of those again.
I'd have thought it wasn't beyond the BMW Engineers to design an airbag into it. The standard wheels with airbags are -it has to be said- UGLY.

That's an understatement!!! A sport airbag wheel was available as an option on standard models. If I had one of the ugly ones it would have to go..... I'd even sacrifice having the airbag if needed!!

Re: Pics of my newly acquired 1990 M5

Ahem,
I also have the optional "sport" wheel.

So that is Ugly and Even Uglier for the airbag wheels

The above one is a delight with those sculpted thumb grips and it just looks the part as well as feeling good.

Aaargh - Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Re: Pics of my newly acquired 1990 M5

Thanks for all the good wishes. Illjah, I also love the look of the interior - one of the reasons behind the 'impulse' buy of the car.

This is one of the just 524 RHD 3.6 M5's made and one of only 45 E34 M5's ever officially imported into Australia - so a bit of a rare beast down under.

Not really sure what I will do with it - maybe ship it to London and drive it at the 'Ring next year with all you other Euro based M5 guys

Cheers
