I have the 3 spoke wheel on my E34 and E36 328 but they are not the same. That's not to say the E36 wheel won't fit but you have to beware of airbags on the newer cars.

Guys the info is all here, Fitting an e36 airbag steering wheel - step by step instructions

I feel old on here remembering this stuff being posted!

Thanks Stevie--unfortunately those links don't work [at least most of em don't!]...However, looking at the realoem website, I see that 3 spoke airbag sport wheel on there...it's pricey [l;ike $1,000 with all the necessary parts looks like] but I think I know which parts to get should I ever get my frikken M5 in the first place

Bottom line is the late e34 95/96T wheel and late e36 airbag wheels will fit the early models if the slip-ring is changed. They are easy to find, unlike the big M-tech airbag wheels.
