ECU workings

The ECu takes signals from various sensors (crank, MAF, AIT, TPS, water temp etc) and then does its calucaltions and fuels accordingly.

Now my question is specific to the water temperature.

Does the ECU alter timing and fuelling given different water temperatures?

The reason I ask is because my car doesnt seem to come out of the blue are on the guage. This I thought may have been the sensor itself but using a barometer I saw max temperatures of around 45 degrees C at the radiotaro and pipes. My thermostat is obvioulsy stuck wide open.

but would this effect the timing and Fuelling?

Re: ECU workings

I think it might affect the fueling. My car seems a bit rich at the moment, a couple of mechanics I have spoken to mentioned water temp sensor as a possible cause.

Phil.

p.s. are you getting me a price for koni dampers we spoke about a while back ?

Re: ECU workings

You have 2 sensors 1 for ecu and the second for gauge. If your running cold the ecu will compensate.
