Temperature Control

The air vents on the passenger side of my car blow cold regardless of where the temperature control is set.

It's not a great problem for me but the complaining has become a bit much.

Any ideas on hwere to start?

Do you have climate control?

if not then I'd guess a hose is split and that the hot air instead of being directed out of the vent is being lost behind the dash somewhere?

do you get hot air out of the passenger door vent?

I have climate control too and get all sorts of things happening.

Is the passenger footwell getting hot?
If nothing gets hot then, I'd guess that the switch for that side is broken and turning up the heat therefore isn't doing anything?

I take it the microfilter has been changed?

Theres a filter in the dash that stops muck being thrown into the car. obviously they catch all sorts of crap.

When i had problems with my heating, it was due to this not being replaced. They should be replaced a couple of times a year.

If you search on the board you will find out more info and how to do this yourself.

Re: Temperature Control

I just noticed yesterday that mine only blows hot air out of the front window vents, and the vents on the dash - if air is routed anywhere else it comes out freezing cold (big vent on dash in centre, central lower dash vents, door vents, and footwell vents). I have the air set to window defrost mode all the time, and use that to heat the car, and always have done, so its not a real problem, but it'd be nice if it blew hot when needed......
