M logo Door handles

Well since the break in, the insurance company have decided to change all the locks, the door handle is damaged on the driver side.

I was thinking of getting the Motorsport door handles - anyone know the availability of these, I know they were used on the US market E34 M5's. And I have the part no's

HowTo: Obtaining/Installing embossed motorsport door handles.

The parts number are: 8 199 757 (LHS) and 8 199 758 (RHS).

They are engraved "BMW Motorsport". It is the whole mechanism, with the lock, so the chassis number (VIN) is necessary to get the right locks. So they ARE available from BMW, it is again a case of being persistent with the parts guy.

These will be your Holy Grail.
Good luck mate.

However if you do find a pair, please do ask if they have any brothers & sisters who might make a trip across the North sea to my car.

I have just procured a set of Original Mtechnic door mirrors through my dealer so it can be done...

Re: M logo Door handles

I just found that the cost might be a slight hindrance its 200quid for the normal door handles - I am not paying a grand for all four!!

Looks like it shall remain the Holy Grail for now.

Jahangeer

Did you ever track down a set of these?

I note you mentioned you had the part numbers. Do you still have them and, if so, willing to share?

Thanks

Wait, are those the mirrors with the vertical line on them and the outer mirror is a different angle? (or something to that effect, seen them once before)

Hi M540i LE
I decided against it because of the cost - and the insurance company would not pay, since they just changed the lock and not the whole door handle unit as it was undamaged.

remember you have the choice between
"BMW Motorsport" and "BMW Individual" (different part numbers)
and they are expensive but you probably are aware of that
