Post European M5 Touring wanted

Some idiot pulled out in front of my 93 M5 Touring yesterday and it looks as though the insurers are going to write it off - major frontal damage, maybe bent chassis.

With GB£15,000 / DM 50,000 to spend in the UK or mainland Europe I want to find something similar - maybe a newer 6 speeder. Preferably original or as close as possible.

If anyone has one, or know of one, I'd be grateful

Cheers

Ian

Have you tried BMW? www.BMW.de
That's where I found my '95 touring, and it was in your budget with <40.000 miles on it. No bad surprises so far.

Too bad on your M5 Touring. Good news is that your insurance company gave you alot of money to play with.

Here is one Touring wit 90 k km for 43 tDM

Also alot for sale on www.bmw.de

George, I'm surprised that you found your for below 50 t DM. Your E34 m5 is the most Individual(ly) built M5 I've ever seen. Really one-off!

Take care of it

Thanks Gustav, the link worked and I found several more on the site as well - but none as appealing as your suggestion !!

Just need the insurance company to supply the cheque (they're quick enough to take the premiums).

There's a specialist dealeer in the UK who regularly inports the M5 Touring but I'm worried about how much the price will go up if I use him to inspect/import for me. I think I can manage all of the reregistering etc the problem is I'm no mechanical expert, if I went to see the car I couldn't tell if there were any underlying problems unless they were obvious.

Is there a German contact who does inspections, preferbaly BMW specialist who can be relied upon ???

Thanks
Ian

I will check with BMW UK in the week but does anyone know if the warranty on a used car sold by BMW.de will be valid and honoured by BMW.uk ??

Thanks

Looking forward to being in the club again soon!!

Ian,
The warranty that BMW Germany gives on its occasions is valid only in Germany. I used this loss of warranty to get a set of 17 inch throwing star winter wheels for real cheap. I got lucky with my car, as only the AC turned out defective (500Sfr to put right).
Hope this helps, GeorgeK

I found this one on the German Yahoo site: http://de.classifieds.yahoo.com/yc?c...7032-1374&cf=3

Although I don't speak German, It appears to be the one you might want.
