Hi All !

Been off the grid for a while attending to work/family issues and never really had enough time to work on the Touring.

Coupled with all these issues I had to start up a new business venture relegating my dear Touring to the bottom of the list on priorities. Most issues have since been sorted and I finally had time to release my treasure trove of new parts on my car.....here is a list of what has been changed :

1. New Michelin tires
2. Whole new front end...upper and lower arms, centre drag link, tie rods, stabilizer links and Moosehead Engineering bushes
3. New front EDC struts
4. Brake pads and discs all round
5. Regulating valve and Accumulators and associated pipe work
6. Rear Pitman arms, sway bar bushes and links
7. Brand new MAF ( Pls don't ask where I found this ! :grin )
8. Water Pump
9. Viscous fan
10. Injectors, fuel rail, and associated piping
11. Changed all fluids to Liqui Moly brand
12. Plugs, Air filter, Fuel filter.
13. Fuel Pump
14. New Headlamps and fog lights
15. Auxiliary fan, A/c compressor, expansion valve and dryer
16. Cam position sensor

Even with all this work done there are still several projects that need to be completed :

1. Mobile phone keeps blowing its fuse
2. Change diff seal, transmission seals
3. removed the side skirts only to find traces of the dreaded tin worm.....this is what i'll tackle first !

I remember reading here that we should all have a look behind our side skirts and now I know how correct the original author was.....anyone who hasn't done so please have a look behind these panels before the damage goes too far !

I'll try and upload some more pictures later....took the car on a 400km road trip with a few BMW Club Nigeria members and it was so much fun! The general bodywork is still as good as the day I collected the car from Farrell.

Will provide regular updates

Cheers

Hi Erik, please, please do check underneath the sideskirts!

There are very little tell tale signs of heavoc underneath. If you do not check yourself make sure pictures are taken. I've had body work done three times in the last three years and I asked every single time to check underneath the sideskirts. Everytime I got the answer that everything was in good condition underneath. They simply did not check. By the time I got smart enough to ask them to make pictures to substantiate their claims, it was clear that the metal of the pasenger side sills was way beyond repair and had to be replaced (and the left wing panel too).

I forgot to mention, another reason why I have been scarce of late.....this is it below !

I recently acquired a fantastic M3.....you won't believe the condition its in.....such a wonderful drivers car !

Take a look at the cylinder head.....looks like its brand new !!

Other pictures are from our BMW Club Nigeria meet-up.

The E39 is a 530i M Sport....thats my work horse ! I'm currently out of town with it to pick up my kids from school......its a 1000km round trip and the car does it every 3/4 weeks without a whisper !
