M5 E34 Euro Spec

Hi everyone, I'm new here in the forum, but not in the BMW World, I used to have some M3 98 evo and 95 3.0. I work at BMW from Brasil at dealers marketing area. I'm thinking of a M5 E34 92 Euro spec that I found these days, all because I can't stand my S2 anymore. (with all RS2 Upgrades and more). The car is a crap.

The 92 M already has

Eibach, yellow konis, Zimmermann discs, pagid pads, new cluth, new bushes and arms.
Need a good care in interior and exterior.

What do you guys can tell me about this 3.6 M ???

What should I look at ? Is there any kind of problem that I should know ???

What kind of RWHP It has and what kind of easy mod can be made, like pulleys, fan delete, Cold air intake, Chip ...

Suggests are welcome.

Thank you, Eduardo.

Welcome Eduardo

Well I am pretty sure the tuning for the 3,8 is pretty much the same for the list below:-

Schrick Camshafts around 20-25hp
Put on 3,8 Kats (take out the 200 and 300cell kats and leave the 100cells in)
UNICHIP is a piggy back system which is tuned on the rolling dyno machine
Forget the Cold air kit - just put in a flat Panel KN filte into the original air box housing where the old paper filter was. People do not get good results from a cold air kit on this car.
A strut bar stiffens up the car at the front nicely.
Not much hp gain but beautiful sounding Supersprint exhaust sytem to kats.

my car is on a website...
http://www.garaget.org/?car=6095

Also I had a Car Dialysis and change of Lambda meter and the engine revs and sounds unbelievably smoothly.

Regards

J

Re: M5 E34 Euro Spec

Thank you for your reply, I already tought about Unichip, now I know it is a good mod, I was thinking about no cats, as in Brazil we have no MOT test, so no problem with emissions, about the schrick where can I get a pair and what do you think about the pulleys and fan delete. Do anyone knows about Supersprint ex. manifold ?

If you get the cams - call Schrick direct, also I think Turner Motorsport in the US can get them for you.

If you get the schricks on then I would have the UNICHIP as you can fine tune the car to the cams, also to the fact you will have no cats this can also be dialled into the UNICHIP.
Supersprint do not make a manifold for the E34 M5 as it is so good already.

I do not know much about the pulleys or fan delete. I do not think you can get power pulleys ie a light weight set - as I looked on Turner Motorsport and there is non for our cars.

I think the best tune up is definitely the cams though - you really feel that extra power - more response through all the gears and it feels lower down in the range too.

Rgds
