Anyone ever gone from 17"'s to 18's?

I'm not worried about ride quailty but does tramlining get alot worse?

The tramlining will only get worse if you go for wider tyres - and in my experience, directional tyres tramline more than asymetric tyres.

Slightly bumpier - especially at the back, nothing too significant.
I only noticed slightly more tramlining with the my new 18's, replaced the 17 throwing stars in March. I am running Kumho Ecsta on the front 245/40 and 275/35 on the back Bridgestone S03's.
High speed stability is a little better. Looks are pheneomenal (original BMW E39 M5 wheels).

If I do go 18's yes the throw starts will be sold.

Most likely will go 18's after respray.

got any ideas which ones you prefer the looks of. When I was looking it was a pain to get the right sizes ie wider rears. The alloys I really liked were either 235's or 225's.

The only wheels I would even consider outside of M parrells is the ACS type 3's.

However, its likely I will go for the M parrallels. E39 M5 wheels are something I did look into but they look so so wrong on E34's. I also dont like putting origional wheels from another model onto other cars. It gives the impression your trying to be like the later model.
