...M5touring owned by GeorgK
and driven by 'Marie-Claire' (or vice versa ?)...
I dont think it matters who drives this car, Karl
In 2002 i drove down from the Nufenen pass (swiss alps) behind Marie-Claire, and she did not drive slowly!
Hi Finn,
You are correct, Marie-Claire is not the slow one. I know why I married her
The car is hers, and she drives it every day.
No Alps rides for me this year and next. We are leaving for Montreal for a year.
I know this thread is old, but did anyone ever find a pic of the "BMW Individual" door handles?
I'd planned on getting the Motorsport handles at some point, but as my car is a BMW Individual Exclusive Edition the sound of Individual handles seems like a better fit.

Coincidentally, a pair was auctioned on German flee-bay a while ago, including some pictures, but keep in mind that these only fit cars build after 9/91.
Part number for the Individual door-handles:
- Left: 51 21 8 199 755 ==> No longer available.
- Right: 51 21 8 199 756 ==> No longer available.
The same applies for the Motorsport doorhandles. Only the left one still is available.
'93 M5s here in US were dressed with these handles
Yup! Seen them on many later model E34 M5's here in the states.
They are actual factory parts, and I think they look very good. It's quite subtle since it's all black, so you really can't see it from a distance, but nice detail to see when up close.
About swapping the door handles/latches... Does BMW intentionally engineer thier cars to never go back together properly when they are taken apart?
Coming from an Audi, I can say BMW's are much more complicated and troublesome to work on.

Strange, as I have a completely different opinion as we have owned a 1994 S2 Avant and still own a 1996 RS2 Avant. Ordering replacement parts can be a challenge on its own to determine the right revision that has to be ordered as VAG has a habbit to alter parts during their production lifecycle.

+1
not to mention the fact that VAG engineers fail to understand that cars tend to be kept around for a bit longer than, say , the initial lease period.
This means that if someone was to swap an uncommon part (lets say the rear-axle mounted brake pressure valve, which breaks down a lot on Jetta, Golf 3+4 , A3 etc) one finds out that
1) it can't be reached with anything else than an Ikea allen key, not even with complete axle off the car
2) the bolts can't even be told from the valve as they are rusted so far up that they need to be cut. Not that you've got space for that though.
Makes for a nice and cheap MOT if the brake pressure bias is more than 30% out.
Ray please move to OT after all is said and done. Let's not get ourselves into VAG discussions without being at least in the vecinity of the Nurburgring
