Transform US lights on Euro Lights.

On the Bmw faq apears this:

Quote:
The carriers and the adjusters are the same. I would replace the adjusters if they are corroded. You would need the following:
  • (02) 63 12 1 388 027 headlights adjusters
    (04) 63 12 1 378 339 small adjusters
    (06) 63 12 1 378 368 mounting pins
    (12) 63 12 1 378 369 caps.
The headlight part no. are:
  • (01) 63 12 1 378 337
    (01) 63 12 1 378 338
    (01) 63 12 1 390 275 <-- Lens only
    (01) 63 12 1 390 276 <-- Lens only
The new connectors you will need are:
  • (02) 61 13 1 378 403 yellow plug connectors for high beams
    (02) 61 13 1 378 401 white plug connectors for low beams
    (02) 61 13 1 378 402 grey plug connectors for city lights
    (12) 61 13 0 007 442 cable socket (wires with sockets that fit inside plug connectors.
This is all you should need. The hardest part is taking your old headlights out. Have fun
Ok... so what changes? i know my english is not the best, but i dont understand what are the benefits on replace a couple of wires?

My problem with the Us lights is that the "presence lights" are together whit the turn signal in the same unit, and the coulor is orange... Portuguese "MOT" rules doesnt acept it... do they use the same kind of lamps?

Re: Transform US lights on Euro Lights.

Are you saying that you have US lights on a Euro car, and want to change them back to Euro lights?

Or are you saying you want to install US lights, but don't want the sidelights in with the indicators?

The FAQ seems to be saying that you need all those parts, and if wired correctly should be fine!

Re: Transform US lights on Euro Lights.

Here's the BMW parts database page for the Euro M5 lights
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...42&hg=63&fg=05

Here's the BMW parts database page for the US M5 lights
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...16&hg=63&fg=05

As you can see the US lights use different (H4) bulbs, compared to the Europeans (H1). This is why you need the different wiring.

I'm not sure what the 'presence' lights are though!
