Hello,
I know this issue has been covered many times and I´ve been through all posts regarding that matter. However, there´s something really bothering me. The BMW catolog shows both temp and pressure sensors on the canister for the S38B38. As per the catalog, the pressure switch should be located on top spot of the canister while the tempo one is to be found by its side.
Now, I seem to have a problem with the pressure switch. The car is only 41.000km and I sundenly got the oil press warning. Went stright to the switch, only to find out they´re were inverted in relation to what the catalog says. I found a post of someone here (can´t recall who, though) stating that also on his car the sensors were inverted.
My question is: should I put the new sensors on the correct position (if it really is the correct one) or should I just mantain what I got? I really couldn´t find any more info about the that issue. Don´t know if the catalog is wrong or maybe it was inverted sometime in the past. It makes more sense the way the catalog states, since the pressure switch (by the catalog) on top should be in a better position to measure the pressure (if you have pressure on top, then you have on bottom). Any info on that matter would be much appreciated.
Regards
