Where is your BlackStone Lab Test, Tony ?
Tony,
Looks like the Oil Thread With Lab Analyst is only for Raymond and I.
Why you are asking yourself 100000+ questions google all night long data information, table charts trying to find info that will Never Ever match your situation nor engine choice!!!, period.
Why ? Absolute worthless post....(in my opinion)
If I were you I would drive your M60/S38 and the do following.
1. Chose and oil that you personally think its good and you can afford.
2. Drive 3 track days.
3. Keep the same oil for 4-6months(sure if you put 3k miles in 1month, do oil change but say you are driving 6months and you put 2000k miles then you do a test according)
4. Drain oil ship to BlackStone.
5. See how the result is on this Particular Engine and then judge and make concept and improve, then all this researches will be forgotten..
Pay attention when Raymond had his oil in his M88/3 or his (E34M5) don't remember exact for about 10months inside his E34M5 oil pan (Raymond correct me if I am wrong with the time frame and engine.)
Then we did not expect to see the following FACT !!! when his oil report was ready from BlackStone the oil did not Oxidize for the given time period in use.
None of us we were expecting to see the oil to stand that well. I always thought as well that the oil will oxidize in time...may be yea after 3 years+
I hope you are getting my point.
I would say if you follow the Oil Thread...with close attention you will find lots of answers you might have in that regard.
Our E46 M3 track car we use 10W-60 LubroMoly with 500ppm Zink and
I am very happy with this Cocktail
and BlackStone proves that as well. Also the Engine likes it!
We do oil changes at 3 track days regardless the oil is still good.
Remember we are 2 drivers in one day! that means total of 5-6track days if one person is the driver.
Follow my track S54 oil test and you will see how the oil standing.
The cam lobe damage on your M60 is done by the previous owner and now you are asking questions after another but this is coming from negligence by the previous owner/s
Hope this will give you direction of logics.
Regards
Anri
