      Changing Brake Hose Questions

I was going to change the brake lines as it seems fairly straight forward. I would appreciate any tips from those who have done this. The part that concerns me the most is while I have the hoses off won't all the brake fluid drain from the resevoir introducing air into the system? The Chilton's manual just says to bleed the system but I thought it was bad to introduce air at the resevoir on cars with ABS brakes as normal brake bleeding procedures (pump and turn bleeder screw) will not rid the system of all air. Thanks for any help.

      Re: Changing Brake Hose Questions

The way i have done it on other cars is take each hose off one at a time. This you won't completley drain your master cylinder. You should check it periodically though and fill it as needed buring the install. It also might help if your line fittings are corroded to heat them up slightly with a torch in order to have the fittings expand so the chances are slim that you'll strip the threading.

      Hope this helps!
