My 1st BMW ever and it's an M5

      Greetings all,fficeffice" />>>

      >>

Yesterday I bought a 1994 e34 M5. A very reluctant enthusiast, who I work with, sold it and so far I can't help smiling!!!

      > >
      >>

It has only covered 86000 KMS (it is an import from Rome) and is mint.>>

I'm still getting used to sitting on the left, but my commute home yesterday was very entertaining!>>

      >>

It has the comms pack installed and I wondering if there is a way to get the thing working. Everything is connected, but I do not have a Motorola Tac mobile that the kit was designed to work with. Can I fit a different kit or will nothing-modern work with it???>>

      >>

      Any info greatly appreciated.>>

      >>

Also, it came with all the manuals for the phone, radio, car etc so if anyone else has any questions I may be able to help them.>>

      >>

Are there any other owners in the Hertfordshire area???>>

      >>

      Cheers>>

I'm in SE London. Not ideal M5 terrain - Hertfordshires better.

I work in Osterley and saw an e34 M5 for the first time on the road, going down the A4.

Thought it may have been you!!!

      hi Steve,

I'm in St.Albans - Enjoy the car - you'll have fun looking around the hedges at speed !!

I had a similar experience with a 911 Speedster left-hooker I had a few years back before the kids came along.

      Hi Terry,

I live in Stotfold, so not a million miles from you in St Albans.

Funnily I met another chap from St Albans, on a motorbike site (i used to own a CBR 600 RR until a lorry cut me up and I crashed in the hatfield tunnel), so obviously St Albans is a good area for enthusiasts!!!

Also more weird, the bloke I bought the M5 also owns a Porsche 964 Speedster!!
Never ever seen one those before either!!!!!!!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you on the A1M, as well as the police in their unmarked skodas!!!

Out of interest, where do you take you car for work?

I have just booked mine in with Specialist BMW in Stevenage, but have no idea of what they are like.

      Cheers Steve

Whan was that - it wasn't a Avus Blue one was it?

I've been driving in from J3 M4 down the A312, onto the A4 to Brentford all week!

Doubt is was me - my commute takes me to Essex, (short stretch of M11 is without cameras and a nice couple of sweeping bends ) seen a couple of our cars around Loughton/Epping

My commute is dull and long, too : North Herts (Hello Hertfordshire1) A505 to A11, 70 miles to Bury. St Edmonds.

The quicker my work at this site is done, the better.

I can recommend the people at Bosch Auto Service in Hitchin, they're a BMW specialist with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Speak to Claud, say I sent you.
