UK LE brochure

I was looking at the brochure for the Orinoco Green LE (an electronic copy) and noticed that the pic used for the interior appears to be exactly the same pic used for the interior of the Australian Motorsport 540i Limited Edition in the brochure for that car.

I will try to post a pic of both and see what members think.

If they come up (the 1st is from the M540i brochure, the second from the UK LE brochure) have a close look. All the lighting reflections and shadows align etc. But what particularly convinced me is that the gear shift leather boot has exactly the same creases in it! The only real differences are that the M540i pic has a colour BMW logo on the steering wheel and the UK LE brochure doesn't and the red needles on the UK LE instrument cluster. Easily inserted by the computer tech guys.

What do you think? I don't think the pic is an accurate representation of what either car looked like inside. Any thoughts on why BMW do this? Why not take pics of an actual car?

Kind regards

Re: UK LE brochure

Probably do it to save money - it's done in lots of industries from Pharma to clothing.

You don't thing designers make prototype versions of every colour shirt/suit/tie do you - they just make one and get a graphic artist to recolour it.

Same goes for LHD/RHD external shots, a simple flip in Photoshop is all it takes and it takes seconds to put a new plate on! A little colour correct and you have your 'new' interior/exterior!
