LHD-RHD M5T

Does, or has, anyone caried out a conversion from left hand drive to right hand drive on an M5/M5 touring?
I had a quick look through some earlier threads and one mentioned a price somewhere in the region of 12k!!
Apart from the obvious, fascia, pedals, and steering column what other "hidden" delights might be encountered?
The reason I ask is that there seem to be a lot more M5T's on the continent than in the UK but of course LHD.
If the price of converting it outweighs the cost of purchasing the car then I guess I will have to get used to driving on the "passenger side".
All for the sake of wanting an M5 that you can get two dogs in the back.

Will.

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

Find yourself an Alpina B8 V8 Touring then as there is only one RHD M5 Touring that I know of!

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

'Munich Legends' did the conversion of the only RHD M5touring, talk to Tony,
they will -never- do it again, it took -a lot more- then expected, the 'wiring'
is a major nightmare -
call Tony at 'Munich Legends', the story is published in a BM'WCar magazin-issue, drive LHD or get an ALPINA as suggested altern. a 540itouring 6-speed -
-
good luck !
any further questions on the M5touring ? shoot !!

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

Having a LHD car in the UK isn't a big issue, if you really want an M5T.

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

Thanks guys, it looks like I will have to have a good look as to "what is out there" when I come to buy something.
I suppose I could always buy a cheap hatchback to put the two hounds in and still get an M5 saloon. Then there is x2 insurance, road tax, mot...... decisions decisions.

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

How about this one?

£10k is optimistic in my opinion though.

Cheers,
Bryn.

Re: LHD-RHD M5T

It's not a "proper" M5 if that is important.
