DON'T buy this car! Back stabber!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

VictorG offered to help me by chekcing the car out for me and after getting all the details, offered the owner more $$$ and bought the car from under me...back stabber! I am just glad that I had not sent him money as he would have probably used it to buy the car for himself!!!

Anyone interested in this car, email me or even better, ask me here on public forum info about the car... I have the entire history of the car, including pics and info that victor won't disclose to you on in the ebay ad!

liking this so far Victor... here we go with the story:

I put a post on roadfly.com asking for someone to help me check out a car I wanted to purchase:
http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forum.../4664233-6.html
as you read the thread above, you'll see victor said he would help me out and hence I took him up on it and emailed him. I told him I had talked to the orig owner, Eduardo Alvarez, who lives in Dominican republic and offered him $2500 cash for it. The 1992 red repainted E34 M5 was located in Boynton Beach, FL at a car shop run by John C. (a friend of Eduardo who was helping out trying to sell the car). I had talked to John extensively over the past few months and he said Eduardo would sell if I came up with cash, which I agreed on. I even had John tow the car to a BMW specialist shop where I paid the shop money to run a prepurchase inspection on it (I have paperwork to prove all this). Result, it is a PROJECT CAR needing thousands of $$$ to bring it up to speed (I am more than willing to share this PPI with anyone sinc eI got screwed out of a car and don't need victor screwing anyone else!) I brought victor up to speed on everything and I told him I have money ready for purchase for $2500, but if needed, I would be willing to go up to $3500 to buy the car. Victor said he would go over sometime during the week to check the car for me. Turns out he said work was very very busy, and he'd do it over the weekend. weekend came and went and these excuses went on for about 2-3 weeks, everytime Victor came up with the excuse he was busy. I respected him and believed him. Finally, a few days ago, I called up John C. (who was storing the car for Eduardo) to ask about the car, at which time he mentioned that it was sold. Some guy walked into the shop offered him $4000 CASH w/o much talk or anything and drove it away...now who would buy an M5 on the spot w/o doing ANY PPI or inspection on it and with the exact CASH in hand to buy the car w/o EVER having talked to the owner or anyone about the car, and had ALL the info on the car?!!?! coincidence...i think not!!
Next, I email Victor asking him if he had had a chance to see the car for me, an he emailed back saying it was sold and he is sorry...PERIOD. I replied asking if he knew who bought the car, and have heard nothing back from him since... only to see THIS SAME CAR POP UP ON EBAY FOR SALE!!!!

I thought people still had integrity, but I guess corruption has infiltrated America worse that I had imagine, and character is just a word and means nothing to anyone anymore! This bimmer forum has been very helpful and honest with me and I don't anyone else to get robbed by this person...selling a $2500 car for anything more than that...$13000 are you crazy...?

car has overheated, needed/needs head work, tranny problems, front end shimmy, porr/non-existing brakes, torn/ripped interior with trim and other pieces missing. I have paperwork and pics to prove all of this!

Best of luck Victor, and I hope you get stuck with this car and make nothing on this car. I even had been in touch with E34BiTurbo with e deal to swap out the motor from this car (once I had bought it) in exchange for a Alpina Biturbo Euro motor! You can email him and verify this as well. You can also email and chcek with EMC (from FI forum) that I was buying this car as he was going to help me with the motor swap.

if you really want to sell this car, I will buy it from you for $2500, Victor...offer stands.

Re: DON'T buy this car! Back stabber!!!

It seems like a lot of work has to be done to that car, new self levelling system and so on, I hate it when they put normal ones on when these cars have the self levelling ones as standard . Also the lower trim colour is surely wrong or that car was ordered with disgusting silver (to match the red I mean), but I do not think so.
But it looks like this guy will make some money on this one, already 7877 USD bid, but "reserve not met", he must be crazy?? Here in Sweden even, that car would not sell over USD 5000 in such a condition.
What other things have to be done to repair it?

Offtopic: is the '91 M5 the first model year in the US, or do you have 90s too?
I have only seen 91, 92 and 93s on ads and so on but I read that the US models started producing in 9/89?

Regards from Sweden

"The self leveling suspension has been replaced with standard shocks."

"The washer pump is not functioning and niether are the fog lights.
I am not sure what is causing it to not function, but believe that it is inexpensive to fix."

"The check engine light is on."

"There is only one fault when we plugged it into the computer yesterday. The car is not reading air intake temperature. My mechanic (a master tech from German Autos in Pompano Beach, FL) inserted other sensors and it kept reading -50 degree C for some reason."

"The anti-lock system is also not functioning."

Apart from that, it`s fine. Honest. Probably just a wire loose somewhere....

LOL...

Re: DON'T buy this car! Back stabber!!!

If anyone has connections, I would appreciate a check on a "Vincent Wylie" from Florida...probably in the vicinity of Boca Raton/Boynton Beach.

Or a Title check on VIN#WBSHD931XMBK05036 or Title # : 89241754

TIA

I have noticed this phenomenon in some cars in my area that their Blinker Fluid has a tendency to turn from Orange to a Blue or sometimes in extreme cases, Green...both of which seem to have a tremendous impact on how loud their fart cans get... they really should get their blinker fluids checked more often! hehe..

ok, enough offtopic...let's get back on track

Re: DON'T buy this car! Back stabber!!!

I don't see what you are *****ing about. That car is a piece of crap. You could spend another 15K on that junker and still have a POS. That guy did you a favor, too bad he's gonna screw some poor sucker. Anyone who buys off flea bay is taking that chance. Tirefryer, you know how to find a nice M5 so why don't you look there. Stay away from those shady back ally deals or don't whine if you get screwed by one. I could have bought 3-4 nice M5's in the time you've been looking.
