Window operation problem HELP

My 95 seems to have developed a intermitent window problem. Sometimes some of them work, other times none of them work, with no apparent pattern. When i press the button I can hear the solonoid or what ever clicking. Does any one have an idea? The moonroof seems to work regardless.

Thanks guys;
Bruce

Just when you mention this...

My back passenger window no longer works, but I can also hear some sort of solenoid action when either of the buttons are pressed.

I was going to replace the motor, but would hate to do that if it were something a little more trivial.

Re: Window operation problem HELP

Just a thought have you guys tried to lubricate the runners and the arms inside the door, as the way the car knows when the window is fully up or down is by the current drain through the motor and then switches off, but if the guides are sticking it will think the same and not work?

Crickey, its catching my rear passenger one has stopped working too.
I can't imagine its a duff motor. They would have hardly ever been used!

I guess to test your theory bob, get someon to press 'down' while someone gently pushes the window down. It should thus move.

If you hear clicking it is definatly at the window / motor end. Not a fuse
