I've been noticing that my car seems to give varying throttle response to similar accelerator pedal positions depending on what gear I'm in. By example, when I'm in 3rd gear at ~2500 rpm and blip the throttle during a quick downshift to 2nd, the engine responds to minimal pedal travel and the pedal feels solid (there's some weight behind it). However, if I'm in 5th gear @ ~3000 rpm and blip the throttle for a quick downshift to 4th, I need to go through quite a bit more pedal travel to get the engine to respond and blip the revs and the pedal feels loose.
Any ideas as to what the deal is here?
