O'Fest Pictures

Here's the shots that I took at O'Fest this past week. There's some shots of the new E60 M5 in there as well. PLUS, some shots of me getting my ride in the McLaren F1!! I won a drawing and was one of the lucky few that got to ride in it. 170mph with Boris Said "holding back" because the tires weren't fresh

Re: O'Fest Pictures

Yeah, the McLaren is unbelieveable. Not only does it haul donkey, but it brakes with so much force, my feet were dangling in the air, in the footwell. Surprisingly the engine is not that loud inside, unlike outside where it's eardrum popping. Inside it's all music...like the sound of our cars, but magnified and with the revs ripping upwards like a a cat with its tail just stepped on...amazing amazing car.

Re: O'Fest Pictures

Stan,

I was standing at the side lines as you (and others) took their rides. Let me just say the sound of the MacLaren taking off at full throttle out of pit lane is a religious experience! I've never heard anything like it. I'm truly jealous!! My buddy and I stood there both days during the lunch runs because it's a sound you just can't get enough of. Then, to see it blast through the banked straight at 170, tuck down into the corner and drift out to the wall...just before a mega-brake zone was unbelieveable. Seeing that car stop that quickly I'm not surprised that your feet went airborne.

Then came the M1 Procar. That's just brute force. As the car left pit lane, you could see it shaking and twisting from all the torque as the engine came into its powerband. It too looked amazing going through the straight...such a pretty sight (and loud!). The '02ti racer was about as loud as the M1 or the E36M3 PTG car.

I'm so glad I went to O'fest! Thanks for the great photos!

-Jeff
