for the gb residents, what's the best quote you've had and is there a prefered broker? i'm going to hold out for a 3.8 which is group 20 rather than the group 19 3.6.

Re: insurance

It has got to be Liverpool Victoria - I think nearly everyone on here is with them now as last year they seemed to knock the socks off everyone else.

Just waiting for my renewal to come through, but they saved me £600 last year!

Re: insurance

Liverpool Victoria insured my 3.6 car as Group 20, (Ha! All or nothing baby!!), at half price of the nearest rivals. The only snag is that you have to be a minimum of 30 years old, and they mentioned 32 years to me!

I didn`t get European cover, nor track day, but they also didn`t mind about the few cosmetic modifications I have either.

Worth trying if you`re over 30;
Liverpool Victoria
Norwich Union

Under that;
Elephant
Admiral
Adrian Flux
Direct Line

There have been several threads on this over the last year. Do a search here on Insurance or Victoria in the E34 forum to find them.

Ivan.

Liverpool Victoria was by far the cheapest for me, again the snag is that you do have to be 30.
My local broaker did however manage to beat their quote, when I renewed a few weeks ago, much to my surprise.

Re: insurance

Funnily enough, I'm also with Liverpool Victoria.

I'm dead old though at 34 !!, and pay £585 for my 1995 6 Speed, Fully Comp with protected no claims bonus.

Adrian Flux, (with a silent "l") wanted £870.

All I'm going to say is that you lot with Liverpool better not start making any claims in the next four or so years. I want a shot at cheap insurance too. I've been stuck with Adrian F**ks for the last few years - Bugger being young. Still it was 'only' £900 this year.

Re: insurance

Liverpool Victoria quoted me almost half the price of competition for my renewal a week ago. And yes, my 3.6l M5 is a group 20 not no 19 !

My latest purchase, Stilo Abarth, Liverpool Victoria are almost half the competition too.

Liverpool Victoria did not state anything about age to me, but I was quite impressed by the fact that "penalty points" were not taken into consideration in compiling the quote and also - Class 1 buisness use is included - free of charge.

Sorry lads - but I must admit to enjoying my new purchase.
