Anyone know if you can get EDC shocks directly from Boge?

Is the dealer still the only source? Wasn't the exclusivity period over at the end of `03?

Anyone in Germany want to walk on over to the Boge offices and ask?

What sucks is that the Boge website doesn't even list the EDC shocks as parts available for the E34 M5 3.8.

I thought the licence was for 10 years after the last vehicle was produced, hence late 1994/early 2005 - therefore late 2004/early 2005 before the exclusive licence expires.

Re: Anyone know if you can get EDC shocks directly from Boge?

It is not known for sure whether the exclusivity contract with BMW is going to end this year. What I do know is that BMW makes quite an operational margin on top of these dampers. It is know that the unit that goes into the Alfa 164 Qadrifoglio is the same as the one on the M5 with the exception of some very minor differences. However, the price for EDC dampers at Alfa Romeo are a lot lower.

Indeed it would be a good idea to have a German-speaking person to call up Boge and see what the situation is. Otherwise, it would be good to compare the EDC shock in the 164 with the one on the M5 side-by-side. I doubt that there would be any significant differences, to the point that they can be interchangeable perhaps??
