How to check CHECK ENGINE lamp

I've been reading about Check Engine codes and how to read them, I tried this with my 525 also, but with no luck.

I'm wondering if the lamp itself has failed.

Is there any way to check that the lamp is working?

I thought that switching the ignition on, with the Check Control button pressed would have worked, but it doesn't.

All comments appreciated...

The light only iluminates to indicate a sensor fault or so, mine does not illuminate, and neither did the one on my 525, I was just wondering if there was a way to check that the lamp does actually work.

I see you've changed the colour of your car :p
