1/4 mile times

When comparing cars recently with a few friends the subject came up, so just wondering if any of you have taken your car down the quarter mile. I've never seen any magazines print results before.

Most numbers I have seen for an E34 M5 with the S38B38 are low 14's, with the S38B36 variant a little bit behind. Hopefully someone here has better numbers than that.

Using a G-tech accelerometer and three people in the car, a spare tire in the trunk and a little less than half tank of gas. Perfect launch holding at 4000rpm and releasing the clutch with just a little bit of wheel spin:

=0-60mph in 6.4 seconds

=1/4 mile @ 14.3 seconds at 101-102 mph (It was a while ago, I donīt remember exactly).

Iīm sure that these figures can be lowered with only one person in the car, low fuel and no spare tire. What happens is that itīs pretty hard to set the G-tech correctly, so usually you need another person in the car...
