Air bag warning light

Hello fellow M5 owners. (I just love this board!)

I own a 1990 M5, and recently while driving my Air bag warning light on the dash, began to start blinking (for about 4 minutes) and then remains on. This now happens everytime I drive the car.

Anyone know what sensors/problem this could be?

Also does anyone know if my 1990 M5 have the top speed limited? It seems to just stop at 262km/h! I am not at the red line yet and it just cuts out. I have read that only 1995's and up have a limiter at 250km/h? Also someone here in Germany is selling a module which he claims will bypass the limiter. Does anyone have experience with such a product?

Thanx

Rich

Don't know about the airbag warning light, I would take it to a dealer and ask them about it.

All the M5's have their speed limited to 250, your speedo isn't very accurate at those speeds so it may show a little more speed.

The limiter works differently in the later models but in your M5 it should be controlled by the computer chip so people often change the chip for added performance and removal of the speed limiter.

Try front wheel speed sensors. Both mine went our within a month of each other.

Had dealer pull the codes for me to make sure that is what was wrong

Good luck
