I have noticed the smell of overly rich exhaust coming from the front of the car and even getting into the cabin while driving. I've had two BMW mechanics look it over and drive it for awhile and they don't notice anything.
The tune of the car has been checked and it's apparently fine. Runs strong and smooth enough but from what I smell, I would say it is running or at least idling way fat.
Has anyone else experienced this? I suppose it could be related to the slightest trace of exhaust leak sound from under the car but I don't see how those odors could find their way up and into the car or why it would have that almost diesel smoke stench.
My guess is that there is an EGR leak somewhere AND some defective firewall seal that is allowing engine compartment odors to leak into the cabin.
