"Bong - Door Open" - Help, can`t see where sensors are

Hi Guys,

Really annoying, I`ve developed a fault of the OBC going BONG !! and the words "Door Open" coming up.

Where are the sensors. It`s driving me mad, every time I move away from a stop, eg traffic lights, it bongs as I pass about 5 mph.

This started a few days ago, and was intermittant, a bong every day or so, but now it`s constant. Every stop and start, BONG !!! Arrggghhhh !!!!

It doesn`t appear to be the drivers door, as when this door is opened with the lights on and ignition off, keys in, it Bongs and goes "Lights On?". That means the sensor must be working in that door, yes?

PS. **** thing never used to tell me lights were left on, this has only worked since the new "Door Open" bong started.

Also, is there a temporary way to disable the bong sound ???

Neither information appears to be in the Bentley Manual.

Ta,

Ivan.

Same thing happened to me, I lived with it for a while and then had it fixed the next time I went to the dealer. It turned out to be the sensor in the driver side door, most likely is in your case too, since this sensor get the most wear and tear.

Ivan:

I had this same problem and it did turn out to be the drivers door sensor even though some of the other functions appeared to be working properly. We changed out the sensor and the problem went away.
