Guys,

I had a tiny incident at a track day a few months ago which resulted in a broken fog light and the removal of my engine drip/undertray (one of you might remember

)

Now, IIRC the undertray was about 3ftx4ft and made of fibreglass.

Does anyone have a part number for this as the only two items I have been offered by BMW and shown on the parts CD are a 1ftx3ft front undertray/stoneguard and an air channel panel.

Neither of these look familiar, so your task (if you chose to accept it) is to have a look under the engine bay of your car and try to find out what that bleedin' sheet of fibreglass is numbered.

If no-one comes up with anything looking similar, then it might just be a case of a previous owner putting a custom stone guard or such on.

My 535i has a tray, very hard plastic, about 3 x1 ft. This has to be removed to change the engine oil.

My M5 has no tray whatsoever.

Would be interested to know if everyone else chirps up with whether the tray is there on the M.

I need to dive under the car tonight to tighten the air con compressor belt (it's chirping away). My car has the tray and It'll probably have to come off to do this job. I'll have a look see for numbers. No promises mind...........

My M5 has a tray arrangement but doesn't need removing to change the oil. I'll try to stick my head under to see if I can spot a number for you. Mind you there's always the staple gun

Staple gun is fine, I just need some undertray material to staple.

I have been offered a proper carbon fibre item for a good price, but I will still need the original unit to use as a template.

Tightened that squeeky belt last night. The front trays had to come off to gain access and some of the rear undertray bolts had to come out so I took the whole thing out for a look.

It appears to be aerodynamically designed to do something. I can't think of any other reason for it.

I took a bunch of photo's (with the part numbers) but can't seam to figure out how to attach to this post.

Is this possible? They're on my hard disk.............or I could email..........

Finally got both parts shown on the ETK CD and the one that is names air guide and looks long and thin is actually larger than the front protection plate - the front one it £50 or so and the rear is £20.

Just got to fit them now!

It the BMW parts CD and can be obtained for a few ££ from ebay!
