M5's In San Diego County

Have been meaning to write about this for some time. As I spend each christmas in San Diego, CA and not in Sweden where I usually live, I get to see nice cars from both continents. This christmas i came across 6, yes SIX E34 M5's while driving around the Z3 in the San Diego area. One specific example especially cought my eye, a white one, totally mint, it seems to be a very early model since it's fitted with the rare, nice (I like them, I know a lot of people don't) turbine 1 wheels. I've seen this impeccable car many times before, beautifully parked in Rancho Santa Fe where I live. I also saw what seemed to be a black 3.8, thin kidneys, late steering wheel, turbine 2 wheels and silver spoilers in La Jolla. This has to be VERY rare.
Am I just lucky or aren't E34 M5's as rare as i thought, at least in San Diego County they can't be?

All the best 2 ya all!
Victor

Victor, I have a white '91 M5, but not the one you mentioned up in RSF. I live in Mission Hills and there is another white e34 car down the street and I have spotted another red e34, driving by my house, with the turbines still on the car. I have the "throwing star" covers on my wheels right now as the original owner thought it would be a good idea to paint the turbines black....no comment. There does seem to be an abundance of e34 M5's in town...I spotted a beautiful gray car about 2 weeks ago near the sports arena. Perhaps it is something in the water.

Well, hello all!
It's been a long, long time since I have been on this board. I've just been too busy with work, etc. Enough with the excuses.

There are several white M5s in San Diego, at least two of which have the original Turbine covers. I don't know the names of the people owning them, but may be able to find out. I have seen the one in Rancho Santa Fe you are talking about. I drive through there every morning (slipping and sliding around the corners as much as traffic will permit ) and have seen the beauty a few times. I'll check around and see if I can get a name along with the car.

Let me know next time you come to town and we can grab a beer together (that goes for anyone, as a matter of fact).

Cheers,
Nene
