Several years ago my cd changer went south. After a few attempts at getting it repaired I decided to go with a new one. BMW said I had to buy one just like the one I had. Very pricey. I got on the net and found a place that had conversion cable for different plug types. I also spoke with a guy at pioneer and he gave me the models that would plug right up to my factory radio. To make a long story short I ended up buying a unit of ebay from a later car that came with the cable. Put it in ran the cable and its working fine. I know this is not much specific info, but it was a while ago, and I remember there were several options for me, but it took a while to find out the info. Try a search in Google for Audio connectors or something like that and see what you get. I do remember a vendor that had cable adaptors that may be what you are looking for.
