Angry Exhaust crack

I am GUTTED.

I have found a crack on the front end of the exhaust system - it means the that bit of the system plus the two cats will have to be changed. I am being quoted approx £600 plus labour = ~ £800!! FEK.

ANybody know where I should look in UK for alternative replacement part or whole exhaust - or should I just go the original parts...?

Yours,

Paul

Have looked at this more. There is NO 'blowing'/noisy exhaust symptoms. I am tempted to leave it. The crack could well just be in the outer skin - the inner must be fine or there would be a lot more noise.

Howver, if anyone does have any ideas as to where I should look for an afermarket exhaust when this does finally go, let me kknow.

Cheers,

P

Hi Paul

I had a slight blow from mine with a rattle dou to a noisy baffle

I tried a few places;

Birds approx £1100 for a sports exhaust

Powerflow approx £2500 custom made

I opted for a stainless made by Supersrint and am pleased with the result it was easy to fit and sounds and looks great

This was from a local C.A.R. Supercentre and there are a few around the country so find your local shop and try them out

If you have no luck e mail me and i will return with a pic of the rear of the car. i would post it but dont know how??

Steve,

I note that you have had the car chipped. Any performance increase or is it just a smoother drive..? WHat about the panel filter - any improvement?

Yours,

Paul

Hi Paul

Superchips had the pleasure of chipping my car and it did make a slight difference but not too much. It did remove the 155mph limiter but i learnt on this board you can do this by removing a certain cable. The rolling road showed no power gain but this was prior to a service and the difference was then noticeable

The panel filter gave no power gain but at 4000rpm the induction noise is louder, and if it is your thing, and more throaty

Hope ypu like the pics

Steve,

Exhaust looks very nice. If and when mine goes I think that will have to be the replacement. At the moment it is not blowing at all, so i think I will leave it.

Did you notice any more noise from the new exhaust?

Yours,

Paul
