Trip to Switzerland, rentals and routes

Hi,

I have won a trip to Swizterland, and will be in Montreux from 9/25 to 9/29, then have 2 days to drive to Zurich for an early morning flight. I am looking for ideas on cars to rent (unless some one wants to lend me their M5...which will be reciprocated when you visit California )as well as routes to drive between the two cities.

I was looking at cars rented through www.drivenimage.com, and was attracted to the Lotus Elise largely because we don't get these in the States. But it dos not appear to have a top or luggage space, am I wrong? Also I am traveling with a friend who is 6'6" and it does not look like a very big car. Also, as fun as it may be on the track it is not M5 for cruising. If this car doesn't work, does anyone have other suggestions on cars to rent (through which Company?) and what are some roads not to be missed between Montreaux and Zurich. Thanks to anyone with advice.

David

From Montreux take the mountain road to Gstaad and then on to Interlaken.

A great side trip there is to Jungfraujoch (the highest railway station in Europe - check out www.jungfraujoch.ch). You park at Lauterbrunnen (about 20mins from Interlaken) and take the train via Wengen. It's very beautiful and at the top there are glaciers, an observatory and even a nice restaurant.

To stay in Interlaken I like two options:

(1) if you want to spend some $$$ stay at the Victoria Jungfrau (http://www.lhw.com/profile/profile.a...ng=1&st=2&si=1)

(2) to save money stay at Sunny Days (www.sunnydays.ch) which is a friendly & clean family run place.

There's a lot to do around Interlaken and it's an easy drive to Zurich from there. Personally, I don't like Zurich much (Luzern is nice though and nearby).
