S62 engine Transplant OBDII compatability issues?

I am looking to do an engine conversion and put an S62 into a BMW that obvously did not come with it. I know that some of the earlier German models and perhaps Euro models for that matter never had OBDII, but I am worrying about compatability issues with this engine into a car that never had OBDII. I'm going to put an S62 and its transmission into an E34 540 sport but i worry about compatability issues specifically with the OBDII system. Can it simply be removed and a computer put in that will not look for all these diagnostic functions? Is that possible.

I would also like to ad items specific to the M5 and S62 such as a sport switch to alter throttle response, i assume i can relocate that switch anywhere and simply rewire it into the car. I would love to at the tach with the illuminating lights to the dash as well, how difficult would that be?

What other systems will i need to install into an E34 to make this Engine run flawlessly. If i do have to keep the OBDII what kind of sensors would i have to install, I would also use the stock E34 CAT and exhaust manifolds but run a custon cat back exhaust? what other systems have i missed, Mechanically it should be fine but i am trying to figure out all the electronic functions of this engine, maybe some of you guys can help break it down. I guess I would like to get rid of most of the electronics which would not be compatable anyway, and just get that 400HP engine running in this car of mine.

PLEASE ANY IDEAS? Every comment is welcomed, i am new to this engine but would love to be filled in by everyone that has anything to comment, I thank you in advance for anything you can contribute.

THANKS GUYS!

When you mention OBDII, do i take it you are refering
to the DME engine management ??

So far as to installing an S62 motor into an E34,
you would deffinately need to start with ALL the engine
wiring loom from the E39, including computers.

The fuelling/intake and general engine electronics are SO
different from an E34 i don't believe it would be viable to
adapt the E34 wiring to suit.

Without thinking long and hard about it i can come up with
the following incompatibility issues:

S62 twin air flow meter air intakes,

Double Vanos wiring,

Lateral acceleration sensor, linked to the oil scavenger
pumps.

As far as the "Sport" mode switch is concerned, this is DME
controlled and not only adjusts the fly by wire throttle mapping
(different to E34's) but also the Servotronic steering effort.

The tachometer/temperature warning illumination is intergrated
into the instrument pack.

There is MUCH to change !!!

Sadly it is not like the good old days (E9, E12, E28)
where you could pull out a 2.5 and just drop in "any old big six!"

Regards,

Alan Archer.
