S38B36 + S38B38 Tech Docs

Dear all,

In my quest to better understand my M5 and the differences between the 3.6 and 3.8 litres engines I found these on the internet

I've uploaded them to my server if you want them.

S38B36 Tech Doc

S38B38 Tech Doc

What caught my eye is the B36 is rated for 7,000 rpm constant engine speed.

My opinion is that the B38 pulls a lot better on low rpm... i dont know the difference flat-out,, but i have seen video when the 3.8 is beating the 3.6

Yea the additional displacement, breathing improvements in the head work, additional resonance changeover point, and exhaust scavenging help quite a bit. I love those type of documents.
