OEM Exhaust Diameter in mm please.

Could I ask a 3.6 and 3.8 owner to give me the width of the tailpipes in mm of the BMW exhaust system please.

My neighbour has a M5 stashed away in his garage (I mentioned it before, I`ve seen it parked up once in a year and a half, never seen it leave or return after a drive, ever, plus what the hell are the chances of two M5s living opposite each other considering there are 696 ever bought in the the UK minus bashed ones, and 20 million houses !!!)

It is a 1994/5 late model, M-Parallel wheels in Burgandy.

Everything looks present and correct, but I swear that looking at it the other day, the exhausts were not as big as mine.

Odd as this is a 1995 car and mines 1990.

Please could you check for me so I`ll know that either his is the best fake I ever saw, mine has a non-standard exhaust, or BMW arsed about with them between the 3.6 and 3.8 cars.

Ta,

Ivan.

Ivan,

My 1995 3.8 6 speed has tailpipes of 70mm each. measured on the outside of the stainless rim.........I believe the exhaust to be OEM.

Hope this helps

All the best
Mark

Mark, hope that you didn't measure that just now ... did you? This is what's great about this board!!! Anywhere from the world, if you have a question regarding BMW's, just post them here and you'll get an answer in less than an hour!

This board is awesome! Great members too!

Yes, I'm afraid I casually wondered out of my office, into the car park with a ruler, crouched down and measured. Wondered back in and posted the reply. Cool.....

Hope you are well over in the US !!

Kind Regards
Mark

I almost fell out of my chair (at work) laughing! You are one dedicated BMWM5 member! According to the clocks here in my office, it's almost off-work time over at Europe isn't it not? I am hoping to visit Walldorf (work for SAP) at end of this year, it'd be my first time to Europe!
