Not for my ear. I think the original system gets it right - no weird resonances and tinny sounds.

Extra noise is energy wasted... I prefer it at the other end of the engine.

The first three seconds of that video sounds really nice and fruity to my ear. Not unlike an M3 CSL. I'm thinking it's an easy modification to make and to put back to stock and sell on should I have a change of heart or if the sound it too intrusive / not to my liking. I think the exhaust note on the M5 is pretty much spot on so I wouldn't make any modifications to that.

I don't think any more energy is wasted. It's more that more of the wasted energy is turned to sound energy. So it's actually a more efficient use of energy.

Each to their own. BTW, I don't understand your energy comment. Intake systems are very carefully tuned to stop resonances impeding flow.

You will not bolt something on to the intake system and improve the performance - you will probably make it worse. Stripes down the side of the car do not make it faster, but someone will no-doubt state some micro aero-dynamic benfit. All cobblers of course.

Does this inlet cone mean that no filter is used?
