The first three seconds of that video sounds really nice and fruity to my ear. Not unlike an M3 CSL. I'm thinking it's an easy modification to make and to put back to stock and sell on should I have a change of heart or if the sound it too intrusive / not to my liking. I think the exhaust note on the M5 is pretty much spot on so I wouldn't make any modifications to that.
I don't think any more energy is wasted. It's more that more of the wasted energy is turned to sound energy. So it's actually a more efficient use of energy.
