what is owning a classic 911 like?
Very rewarding. IMO, 911 > M5 in everyway except M5 can sit 4 people. Cost of ownership is way cheaper than M5 too. Comparing 911 to M5 is like comparing apple to orange and each has its own plus & minus. But if I can only have one weekend toy, 911 is my choice. If you live in UK you can get parts easily since you have a large population of 911. Pistonheads has many of them in their classified section.

Overhere, population on 911 (pre 996) is almost nonexistent, all of these cars (911, M5, 190E) were never officially sold here, all came in through diplomatic channel, with the exception of C36AMG of which 40 were imported when APEC (Asia Pacific Economy Conference) was held here in 1994. But with internet, car forums and Ebay you can always find parts.

Is the m5 a UK import? If I recall, Indonesia is a LHD country and it is a RHD?

How many e34 m5's in Indonesia?

Indonesia is RHD country, most countries in Asia & Pacific are RHD I believe except China, Taiwan & South Korea.

My M5 is UK import with speedometer in mile but I have seen RHD in KM. Total M5 E34 here I guess is between 10 to 30.

What I really want is M3 E30 but almost impossible to find here since very few came in, perhaps being a LHD.

Yes mine is MY 88. North America only got 2.3-16 in 86 & 87, it didn't sell well cause it was too pricey at US$45K, while M3 was $35K almost $10K difference.

Thank you Gustav, those are the pictures of my Alcantara interior. I will post more pictures when I get a chance & the weather gets better. Because of La Nina we are not having dry season this year but rainy season all year long.

As I get "wiser" these are my dream cars now: MB Pagoda, early 911 (pre -74), BMW 3.0Cs (E9). Pagoda here now fetches US80K for project car.
