O.T. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme...

This is what happens if you have far too much money and a lust for all things automotive. I wonder if it drives as good as it looks?

That is a truly magnificent machine! I wonder how much understeer it would get? That is a lot of weight in the front and even with plenty of throttle I imagine it would have a marked tendency to go straight ahead at speed.

Just my tuppence.

Gustav posted HD vids of a V10 E30 car in a drag race.

HD video: "1000 HP" BMW M5 E34 vs BMW M3 E30 V10 S85

It's not that much more weight. S14 short block weighs 106kg, M20 short block weighs 117kg, S85 short block weighs 175kg.

Reading through the thread it's mentioned that the car weighs 2,950 pounds and has a weight distribution of 52f/48r which is actually a better distribution than the E30 325 which has 54f/46r. Should be noted that an '89 325ix weighs 2,954 pounds according to an owners manual.

And they used E90 suspension which should make it handle a lot better than the E30 suspension would've.

So you've got a car that weighs in the same range as a regular E30 325. Has a better f/r weight distribution than an E30 325. And it has a better suspension than a regular E30. Sounds to me like a car that'd be fun to drive.

And later on in the thread it's mentioned that the engine is getting pulled to be replaced by a Dinan S85 5.7L stroker which knocks it up over 600hp...

Love the "V10 in a box"

Did you also spot the Hartge V10 E90 lurking in one of the pictures? Very nice indeed.

Can't fault the level of workmanship there.

Would love to know what the final bill for building that looked like !
