streaky windshield
I've noticed that when using my wipers I get a hazy/foggy effect that is left by each stroke of the wiper and then fades quickly, only to come back with the next stroke of the wiper. It's not my blades as the are clean and fairly new. I wonder if the surface of the glass has degraded somehow over 16 years and is causing this?

Have you given your glass a really deep clean with some clay or a good quality glass cleaner? I would also look closely at your wiper blades, time to clean those as well and maybe even use some good quality screen wash, not the usual rubbish supplied by garages etc.

I get the same problem in cold weather, but, I think it's pressure sensor related (my car has the speed sensitive wiper system which also has a speed related wiper pressure aspect apparently).
