The one and only BMW M5 Convertible (E34) and BMW M5 Touring E39 manufactured from BMW M GmbH
"BMW has finally confirmed that it developed an M5 convertible 20 years ago, but canned it a week before it was due to be launched due to sales concerns."

I know BMW stated that an E34 Cabriolet would take sales away from the E30 and E36 range, but M-B had no worries shifting hundreds of W124 cabriolets and creating one of the best built cars at the same time.
I do like the E39 M5 Touring....another marketing mistake. Will the Germans never learn!!!

Yep, got to agree this is an excellent post Gustav - thanks! I think the car looks fantastic too and you know that it would have been a huge hit across the atlantic regardless of domestic sales. They certainly were keen on 'M Collection' M5's in Daytona Violet it would seem - lovely colour of course ;-)

They have built two e34 M5 Convertible , one was painted in Black with light grey interior and second one was painted Daytonaviollet with dark / black interior.
Such a shame that both of them spent them lives in the garage...
