Here is the thread I started when I finally took possession of a thoroughly trashed 525iT. The wagon had perfect roof rails so I bought the car for $300. Terry Sayther's pirates removed the engine and drivetrain and a bunch of other junk, and I took it from there. New roof rails are almost $800 delivered, so it was easy math to start with. About $1500 later I have the trailer. It still needs to be finished, and I have yet to find another $1500, so as of today it sits with a tarp over it at a friend's shop. Here is the M5 thread

List of remaining items:

M5 rear bumper cover
M5 skirts and lower door trims
VW soft canvas sunroof
13 pin westfalia wiring harness
Rolls of Dynamat
plywood to make new floor
Sliding window to install in front so I can see all the way thru it when towing
Paint it Silber metallic
buy tires for my extra 9J and 8J M///'s that I have in the garage
hatch shocks for glass and hatch
Wire door locks to operate windows also...serious wiring needed to satisfy need for overkill
Remove Diff...adapt suspension to leaf springs maybe
chop rear shock towers to make interior feel wider

I'm sure there are ton's more items,....oh yeah, place for it to live while I figure out a reason to have such trailer

shhhhhh
