I bought two in the 9" size new through BMA for US$615 each (plus shipping). Arrived here last week.

Given how many have been bought here of late, I suspect there may be less than 42 left in the warehouse ...

They usually have a good discount too, for US, but to pay to ship a rim from europe, to the US and back would probably cost more than the discount over finding a local dealer.

I know board member elekta recently searched and searched for a 9j wheel, and i'd believe what he's telling you.

Hello

I asked my bmw dealer in the Netherlands en also the Bmw dealer in Germany for prices of the 9J parallel wheel. The dealer in The Netherlands gave me a price of 557 euro with tax, that's 840 dollars. The dealer in Germany was even more expensive: 584 euro, that's 875
dollars. So i think that realoem.com isn't that far off with a price of 900 dollars. An i'm not that stupid to think that the parallel wheel is impossible to find secondhand and that that should reflect in a possible selling price.

By the way, the man in Germany told me that there were only 24 wheels left. I checked on your board, In 2008 the price for the wheel was 647 dollars. Now it's gone up to 840/ 875 dollars. That does raise the question, is bmw keeping in mind that the 9J parallel wheel is becoming scarce? Different board members claim that they paid between 5 and 600 dollars and i'm not arguing with that. I'm just curious why there's a difference in price between Europe and the USA. Did you pay tax over the cost price?

That will maybe be the case. But i've been reading his earlier posts about the 9J parallel wheel and at that time he wrote about other amounts.....

Quote... with the wheel costing $680 plus tax and shipping from Germany to Cali, Cali to Austin

That's a lot more than the -about $500 plus shipping - he wrote in his last post. So what's true?

I bought one thru Saliya in California, and that was $647 plus shipping. At that time there were 40 some odd left in verifiable stock. This summer, I ran over a piece of angle iron avoiding a shredded truck tire and trashed the second wheel, which I had replaced by a friend in Ohio who found it for $525 (or so) plus shipping. In both instances because of interstate commerce laws, I paid no sales tax.

My only advice is to keep searching. You are bound to meet someone who will get you true dealer cost. I will contact my Ohio friend and see if the prices have changed since last month when I got the less expensive albeit identical wheel...and see about a Netherland contact.

Really, it would be best to find at friend in Germany to make the purchase at dealer cost, and then ship to you Fed Ex ground.

Mushroom. As mentioned, I paid US$615 each for two of them in the past couple of weeks. I paid no tax as the wheels were exported from California to me in Australia. I also paid about US$180 each for freight to Australia.

Down here, we have to live with higher prices. For example, if I was to order one of these wheels through the dealer, it would cost me close to US$2000 here. So the end price of around US$800 is a bargain for me.

But this doesn't explain how a major independent seller of BMW parts in the US can purchase these rims, have them shipped from Germany to the US add its profit and then offer to me for far less than you can source the same wheels in Europe.

Good luck with it. Only 24 left!

Regards
