Spending a week with my ///Mistress

Taking a week of vacation from work and spending it with the old ///M5.

Going to put in some Eibach springs RD Bilstein struts and shocks, UUC shifter and DSSR, tint the windows and get started on the parcel shelf, and headliner.

Then maybe refinish the wheels, remove the last appendages of the LAD/SLS system.

Sweet, be sure to update us with pictures! On that note, I'm terrible at taking pictures...

Don't know exactly how the Eibach/RD Bilstein setup compares to a Dinan/Bilstein setup, but I'd bet they're pretty close. If so you ought to like it afterwards. Drove a buddies '93 M5 right after he had the Stage 1 Dinan/Bilstein SLS delete setup installed and it was pretty nice. Almost like my M-Sport in the S setting.

Also drove his car right after the install of a UUC Evo3 (the factory shifter snapped in two on me when I was borrowing his car). So much nicer shifting afterwards. They didn't have the DSSR out then, so I can't comment on that.

It'll feel like a different car with that new suspension and UUC setup. And I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I want PHOTOS!!!

I'm going to be putting the same exact setup on my car over the winter...are you getting a SLS delete kit? If so, where are you getting that from? Only one I know that sells it as a kit is BavAuto.

My parcel shelf was trashed when I had it reupholstered last year. It's amazing how much of a difference a small interior part like that can make to the entire interior ambiance. Although the color match was good, I still should have purchased a brand new parcel shelf from BMW. I think they still stock some in various colors in Germany.

Just picked up one of these, so I can get rid of the bumper car steering wheel

Well, started to tear into and had a rough time with the right side assembly.

It was a Boge non-insert type....Looked original. Damn, I thought I had a receipt for a previous rebuild with Bilstein Sports some where.

Rusty collar nut had to be split to get it off.

Old Boge piston

Here's the gap, but I think the top of the insert will center into the new collar nut

Here's the springs and struts

I had the same gap and once tightened down it was fine. Running with it for a month now with no issues.

I just installed the UUC short shifter and DSSR on my car a couple of weeks ago and love it. It makes an amazing difference and makes the car even more enjoyable to drive. Enjoy your project!

Picked up the wheel at the post office this morning and pulled the airbag system and put it on.

Front strut assemblies waiting for new spring pads, top mounts and swaybar links.

Looks like new rotors are in my not too distant future.

According to UPS tracking.....The UUC shifter DSSR is somewhere on the Island rolling around in a big brown UPS truck, hopefully it shows up this evening and I can put it in tomorrow.
