HELP! My car wont rev!

Hello, hope someone can help me! my `93 M5 3.8 has a stramge problem. My car starts and idles well and drives nice on part throttle, but when I try to use more than one third throttle the engine dies. I took the car to a local garage who diagnosed that the MAF had failed but £500 and one new MAF later the car is no better! I have had the car for 4 years and have done over 30000 miles in it (it is now at 150000) and it has never missed a beat untill now. I hope someone can shed some light on what is wrong with my pride and joy!

quick thoughts

- is the MAF receiving enough air? (air filter / air box intake blocked)
- throttle position sensor (lot's of posts on here I think)
- fuel pressure (pump not supplying enough for more than part throttle, blockage in the pipe / tank?)

can you describe in a bit more detail what happens when you apply more throttle?

Hello
Lots of maybes here !
Get the vehicle to someone who can diagnose the fault, system by system.
Changing parts back & forth will not help if you have a wiring fault ( very possible)

Cheers
Farrell

HELP! My car wont rev!

Thanks to those that replied to my message. I have changed the tps, the cam sensor, the crank sensor, the airfilter, plugs, maf, and the fuel pump in the tank. I work away from home and when I drove there last weekend the car felt like it was getting worse. When I used more than quarter throttle the engine lost power but if I lifted off only slightly the engine would pick up again, but reapplying the throttle made it die again. Strange thing is when I picked my car up this afternoon it drove home perfectly normal, reving smoothly with lots of power! This car seems to have a mind of it's own! Thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice.

Fuel pressure regulator, faulty coils, bad ground, it could be so many things...
